Dave Carroll

Lead Pastor

Dave and Amy Carroll came to the Upstate from South Florida in the winter of 2022. The Carrolls have been married 24 years and are the proud owners of four boys, two in college and two in middle school. The entire family loves serving Jesus through the local church.  In vocational ministry since their college days, they have invested in helping people far from God come to know Jesus in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Ohio, Montana and now South Carolina.

Dave brings passion, a heart to develop others and a focus on being effective. He has a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with experience coaching, writing resources, and developing leaders.  Amy loves connecting with and helping people grow. She learned to love ministry as a missionary kid in Africa in her elementary years.

The Carrolls are rabid Miami Hurricane fans, love music, fishing and sports in general. Dave is a fan all sports teams in Miami, where he grew up fishing in the Everglades, snorkeling on reefs and water skiing in Biscayne Bay.

Pastor Dave and Amy see the amazing potential in the people of Impact to make an uncommon spiritual difference in the Upstate area. You are invited to join us on the journey of seeing God move in a powerful way.

Nicole Kelly

Kids Minister/Office Administrator

I live in Moore, SC with my husband, Jeff, and my two wonderful kids, Makayla and Mason. We have loved raising our children in the Upstate and love the family that the Upstate has blessed us with. I have grown up in church my whole life and have been with Impact for 10 years now. I love Impact Community Church because I am able to fulfill my calling to children's ministry.  Being at Impact has allowed the Lord to work through me to reach the hearts of many families in our community.

My favorite bible verse is Matthew 18:3 " I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven."

Makayla Kelly

Worship Leader

I've grown up and lived in Moore, SC for my whole life. It has been such a blessing to be in the Upstate community. There are so many good people and so many people to minister to every day.

I grew up in church and rededicated my life in 2015 at a youth summer camp. I was baptized on October 11, 2015 at Impact. I have been at Impact for 10 years and am beyond grateful to call Impact my home. The community at Impact truly feels like a family where everyone is welcomed. I strive to invite all people, in any walk of life, into the Spirit of the Lord through worship and community.

My favorite verses are Psalm 146:1-2, which says "Praise the Lord! Let all that I am praise the Lord. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath" because we are truly blessed to be able to choose God in this life. We will worship Him eternally in Heaven, but while we are still on this Earth, we have the chance to choose Him everyday, even with the trials of life.

Caden Dillard

Student Pastor

I have lived in Moore, SC my whole life and truly love the Upstate because of how broad the community is.  There are so many different kinds of people to meet and minister to.

I grew up in church, but have really known Jesus for 13 years.  I have been at Impact since the beginning, and am so thankful to have the people at Impact as my church family.  My greatest passion is teaching middle and high school students about God.  It has been a blessing to watch our students grow and learn that they can turn to God in the crazy world of school, work, and other situations that may try to lead us away from Him.

My favorite verse is Psalm 27:19, "As in water the face is reflected as a face, so a person's heart reflects the person."  My prayer is that every person that I encounter will see Christ living in me and know of the new life that only He can give.

Jacob Roten

Tech Supervisor

I’m originally from Laurens, SC, but now live in Spartanburg with my wife of two years, Joanie. I love the people of the Upstate and who they inspire me to be.

I grew up in church but really committed to serving Jesus in my early twenties. I’ve attended Impact since August of 2022 and it’s great to walk into a church service and feel the encouragement from everyone around, even on a difficult day. My favorite part of ministry is when people are able to work together to accomplish great things, from setting up a great church service to sending off a foreign mission trip, it’s amazing to see people collaborate for a greater cause.

My favorite verse is Job 1:21 “The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!”

Gary and Sandy Chapman

Care Team Leaders

We were both born and raised in NW Pennsylvania.  We met in February, 1987, and were married in December, 1988.  We moved to Texas in September, 1995.

Sandy gave her life to Christ when she was 13 years old and attending church camp in Ohio. Gary gave his life to Christ when he was 17 at a youth gathering at a CMA church.  I strayed until I was about 40 and rededicated my life at a lunchtime prayer meeting at work.

We moved to the Upstate in February, 2023, following our daughter and her family with our only two grandchildren. We have loved having 4 seasons the the beauty of the area the year around.

We started attending Impact in June, 2023, and knew the first day it was where we belonged.  Everyone was so friendly and it just felt like home.

Sandy loves helping those in need and brightening someone's day! Gary loves helping others and leading mission trips to Jamaica.  He also loves watching the youth in our church.  They are amazing.

Sandy's favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 -- "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"

Gary's favorite Bible verse is John 3:16 -- "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten"
